Small businesses in the United States grew more confident in the economy's future in November, for a third straight month of improvement, bolstered by a more optimistic outlook for sales and hiring, according to a survey released on Tuesday.
The National Federation of Independent Business said its Small Business Optimism Index rose 1.8 points to 92.0.
Eight of the index's 10 components were either improved or flat.
The majority of businesses polled expected better future sales when adjusting for inflation. In October, most small businesses expected inflation-adjusted sales to decline.
The hiring component of the index, which was published separately on Dec. 2, rose, after declining the previous five months.
The index reading was based on a survey of 781 NFIB members.
The NFIB’s Chief Economist Bill Dunkelberg appeared on CNBC this morning to discuss the report:
Reuters contributed to this report.

They must know something we the public dont. Still see many closing up shop. And look for the next wave of closures especially retail after the holidays.
You dont say its Christmas time and things are looking up for a month.
Well, I don't know how big the NFIB is but 781 members giving this optimistic opinion doesn't give me reason for optimism.
Here at our small business in NY we have just grown smaller and presently employ only 3 now, from a total of 15. The last few hit the dirt road right around Nov. 1st.
This great news does not apply to us.
Small Business more Confident about the Economy Survey Says!
BWaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahah hahahahahahahahahaahaha!
Gee thanks for the Laugh!I needed a little Bull @!$%# to brighten my day!
Most of my small business clients don't see an improvement and say they don't expect one until the current President and his anti small business attitude is replaced. If people want jobs and the U.S economy to improve, vote for someone other than B.O.
