Tiger Woods and his new endorsement strategy

Tiger Woods with CNBC's Darren Rovell

Tiger Woods, who helped the United States win the President's Cup over the weekend, shares his endorsement deal with a fast-growing company with CNBC's Darren Rovell.

Woods, who has been in a two-year slump on and off the course, says his golf game is getting better. Can he win back some big corporate sponsors?

LOL. His new slogan tagline could be: "Tiger Woods, good on any turf."

He is a founder of cheaters.com as well.

I think Newt Gingrich started that one.

All you need is some famous chick to appear unshaved and it will become cool again. Fashion always comes back. After the 70's who though bell bottoms would make a comeback...and its been back twice since then.

Jeez you guys, give it a rest already. The only difference between the countless men that cheat and Tiger is they are nobody with no money, and Tiger is successful with a lot of money. The guy made a huge mistake, one that he has and still IS paying dearly for. How would you guys like it if you never got forgiveness for something stupid YOU'VE done? Not to mention, it's just old news, sheeesh.

Lemonverbeena Please amend that to "was successful". And a good portion of that "lot of money" went out the door with his ex-wife and kids. He did not "made a mistake" he has free will and decided his shi* smelled better than any one else's and wanted to make sure that everyone knew it.

A lot of men cheat and a lot of women cheat, probably the majority. It still doesn't make it right. You making excuses for him puts you in the column of the person who probably does cheat.

People who want to have multiple partners should divorce or never get married in the first place. It is that simple!

at gene047....obviously you're not a golfer...The entire golfing world cares about Tiger and it's for many reasons. Besides being the biggest draw on the planet(attendance goes up 40-60% when he's in a tourney) he's also the best golfer over the past 20 years(no one is even close)...Will he come back next year? Who knows but it really doesn't matter to the golfing fans

As for the womanizing, trust me that this has been going on in the PGA since Arnie and Jack were roaming the fairways(and night clubs)...A friend of mine worked for the PGA in europe and they spent many nights pulling guys out of brothels at 4am...Seve(RIP) was among the most notorious...

Not to mention that probably all the guys in here have scummed around on their wives... makes them hypocrites. Lou, John, Ren, Stand and deliver, crackulator.... all cheaters I bet.

How come no one hates Kobe Bryant like this? He actually raped a woman while cheating on his wife and got away with it, yet I bet you all still buy his jerseys and watch him play.... again, hypocrites.

He screwed around on his wife (badly, grant you), got caught and lost just about everything. What kind of people continually kick someone when they're down? Cowardly anonymous posters in here, that's who.

Wow LemonV, way to take your personal issues out on the forums. Yes, it's sad that you were cheated on and are hostile about it.

See? It's not nice when people make assumptions about a person based on a single short post.

I don't support what Tiger Woods did, but his incredible golf career will be remembered long after personal indiscretions have faded away.

Lemonverbeena Get a new hairdo, buy some fancy expensive clothes, spend a few months in the gym and then throw yourself at Woods. I am 100% certain, he is not lacking for female companionship and you will have to wait in line for an interview.

Or would you like to hear about a bitch who was given 25 years of a man's life, two wonderful children, everything she wanted and a custom made 5,000 sq ft beach front house, approves that her husband be killed and admits to multiple bisexual affairs.

Honey or horney, the door swings both ways.

Stand and Deliver When I hear the name Tiger Woods, I do not associate him with his golf career, I associate him with a picture of his beautiful wife holding one child and taking the other child by the hand and leaving him.

I associate Tiger Woods with absolute stupidity.

While watching golf with a buddy one day at his girlfriends home, he proceeded to put Tiger down in every possible way he could imagine. This went on all day for the whole tournament, during commercials, while watching them tee off, cut their way through the tall grass, chipping to the greens, and putting to the hole. Until he was interrupted by his wife calling...

What ever Tiger endorses, I will buy! Just to piss off hypocrites like you and my "friend"! It's called being a sports fan! Not a judgmental hypocrite for something that has nothing to do with the sport itself! Are you going to throw away your precious Ping clubs because Karsten Solheim cheated on his wife Louise back in 1975 with Amy Howerwietz? That is.....if you know who Karsen Solheim is................loser!

I hope he can gain the dominance he has had. Its' good for golf and good for MOST sports fans. His achievements are unparalled. His work ethic and professional credentials are unimpeachable.

Wood know precious little about watches and even less about automobiles. The fact that any company (other than a golf products company) would pay him to advertise its products is a sad commentary on how easily manipulated the public is by someone granted celebrity status.

Tiger put Nike golf equipment and apparel on the map and made TV golf a viable sports alternative on Sundays. The lummoxes on this blog who took pride in kicking him when he was down or who believe he has failed their moral code are nothing but self-righteous blowhards who refuse to acknowledge their own pungent, sinful odor! Kinda like Newt championing Clinton's impeachment while carrying on his own scandalous affair. Despicable!

I, for one, really am not interested in Mr. Woods' love life or sexual dalliances. He plays golf, makes a lot of money when he wins and that pretty much sums it up. He has no obligations to anyone beyond that, just like you and I and the guy that pumps gas down the street.

What we do have an interest in, is his golf play prowess. Too often athletes wether professional or not are granted certain concessions with regard to their conduct as people. High School Football players, College Football plays, Professional Football players, Race car drivers etc, etc, etal. The fact is our idolization of these individuals lends our sponsorship to their less than acceptable behavior. We carry these folks and afford them special considerations, both in real life and as they go through the legal system.

So, what's really important about Mr. Woods is how he plays golf. If he totally falls apart in a tournament it really has nothing to do with you and I unless you've got money on the game. If he falls apart in real life off the golf course really has nothing to do with you and I.

For whatever reason, we have created some kind of utopian environment for athletes, how about we just call them 'JOCKS". Most of these people couldn't pass a physical for service in our armed forces and yet we idolize them over the men and women who are actually doing something really meaningful. Why do we continually put emphasis on athletics over educational endeavors at all levels of our educational system? I for one am embarassed when a professional athlete takes to the air waves and has trouble speaking and making any sense.

I guess that means no obligations to his wife or KIDS, either. If he wanted to dally with the sluts, he should have never married or had children. Simple as that. But he did marry and he did become a father, then threw it all away. It is not a matter of hating him, it is a matter of hating what he did to innocent children.
